Description of the Port:

Main activity of Colakoglu Port is "Loading" and "Discharging" of iron and steel products.

Main import items handled are Iron & Steel Scrap and occasionally Ferro Alloys [Ferro Manganese and Ferro Silicone].

Export cargoes handled is Iron and Steel Products.

Colakoglu Port operates 24 hours a day year round.

Restrictions:

• "Liquids" and "Dangerous Cargoes" are not accepted by the port authority.

• Maximum Permissible Load is 3 MTS/m² on berths.

Anchorage:

Please see "Gulf of Izmit" [Information on best location of anchorage will be given by Pilot station].

Pilotage:

Pilotage is compulsory in the Gulf of Izmit from Darica to the Colakoglu Port. Pilotage is also compulsory for berthing and unberthing and anchoring.

Pilotage is provided by the Dekas Pilot.

Pilot Contacts are VHF channels 12 & 16.

Towage:

Towage and/or mooring boat is compulsory and arranged by pilot and provided by the the Med-Marine.

Height of berths from sea is 2.5 meters.

Cargo Handling Equipment:

• Magnetic Grabs,

• Weigh-Bridge 1 x 80 MTS.

• Weight-Bridge 2 x 200 MTS.

Shore Cranes are not available at Colakoglu Port.

• Discharging rate of Iron & Steel Scrap is 3.000 MTS/Day.

• Loading Rate of Iron & Steel Products is 4.000 MTS/Day.

Port operates 24 hours a day year round.
