LOCATION:

Ambarli port is located on the North shores of the sea of Marmara.

Ambarli Port Complex is located 34 km. away from Istanbul and is very close to TEM and E-5 highways. The port is divided into 2 regions.

Region No.1 Ambarli New Port, located to the west of the Oil Terminals, consisting of privately owned dry, bulk and container terminals.

ANCHORAGE AREAS

Information on best location of anchorage will be given by Pilot station.

Anchorage area for Ro-Ro and General Cargo vessels;

PILOTAGE

Pilotage is compulsory for berthing and un-berthing and anchoring and below styled Pilot Station to be called thru VHF Channels 12, 16 in two hours advance before arrival at Ambarli.

Pilots boarding point is located in position;

¨ Longitude: 28° 40’ 5” East.

ARPAS is providing Pilot and Tug-Boat Services within the boundaries of the AMBARLI PORT since 04^th September 1998.

PILOT LADDER

Pilot Ladder to be prepared on vessel's starboard side. If the vessel's freeboard exceeds more than 5 meters, a combination ladder should be prepared.

TOWAGE

Towage and/or mooring boat compulsory arranged by pilot and provided by the ARPAS.

There are;

Ø 3 modern and powerful Tug-Boats; ARPAS I, ARPAS II and KAPTAN H ALPASLAN, of over 30 ton pull-power, 22 meters long and with 2100 BHP and twin propellers;

Ø A fast Pilot Boat: ARPAS VI, with 2x300 BHP and twin propellers;

Ø Two Mooring Boats: ARPAS III & ARPAS IV.

RESTRICTIONS

Only “tankers” are restricted to daylight berthing only. All other vessels berth thought 24 hours.

ACCESS

Airport: “ATATURK International Airport” is at Istanbul with a distance of approximately 14 km from the AMBARLI PORT.

DEVELOPMENTS

There is a breakwater under construction to the West of the general cargo port.

Main activity of the pier is Iron & Steel Raw Material, Iron Ore and Steel Products handling operations.

There is a total berthing availability in length of 800 meters and in width of 25 meters with 2 Ro-Ro berths.

Depth alongside the pier varies from - 6.5 meters to - 14.5 meters.

Soyak Port is a general cargo, Ro-Ro and container port. SOYAKPORT whose all sub-structural works and surface plants were constructed by Soyak Group as a multi-purpose port , all kinds of goods from container to automobile, from cast goods to mixed commodities, are being loaded and unloaded with the appropriate equipment.
